Welcome to Ljubljana, stop by your hotel and get ready to experience the city in its full glory. Wander along the canals, visit the Persern square and climb up to the castle overlooking the city center.
Day 2- Postojna Cave
Venture south from Ljubljana after breakfast toward Postojna. There, you will have a chance to explore 24 kilometers of passages, galleries and magnificent halls carved out by the Pivka River, discovered just 200 years ago.
Day 3- Bled
Today you will head out to Slovenia's flagship attraction, Bled Lake. Sail to the island in the middle of the Alpine lake on a traditional „pletna“ boat, climb up the stairs to the monastery and round the day out with dinner at the castle on top of the cliffs.
Day 4- Road to Portorose
Take your time to check out from your Ljubljana hotel in the morning and travel to Portorose. On your way you will stop at the Skocjan caves, a unique natural phenomenon carved out by the Reka River.
Day 5- Piran
Hop over from Portorose to Slovenia's most charming town on the Adriatic and birthplace of Giuseppe Tartini. Tour the winding alleyways and Tartini square before the local fish farm in the afternoon for a unique experience.
Day 6- Hum
Venture south from Portorose to explore Istra but not before stopping at the world's smallest city, Hum. Nestled comfortably atop a hill, Hum lists just over 30 inhabitants. Try the local Buzet wine and continue on to Rovinj.
Day 7- The Istria experience
Today, you will have the chance to experience the full Istria package. Visit Porec, Pula and Rovinj as you learn all about the long and tumultuous history that shaped the region. In the afternoon get ready a unique truffle hunt.
Day 8- National Park Brijuni
Depart toward Fazana early for a boat ride to the Brijuni islands, a national park consisting of 14 islands, each with their own story to tell with the first inhabitants dating back to 1000 years B.C. Visit the remains of a Roman villa, a safari park, an archaeological museum and many more.
Day 9- Zagreb
After a short trip through Croatia's scenic landscape, you will arrive at the country's capital, Zagreb. A focal point of culture, science and commerce for centuries, Zagreb is the bridge between Central Europe and the Adriatic. Visit all of the city's main attractions in the afternoon while learning about the capital's history.
Day 10- Croatia uplands
Strike out from Zagreb towards Croatia's uplands, visit the picturesque village of Kumrovec, the Veliki Tabor castle and enjoy a traditional, local lunch in Gresna Gorica. Later, head North toward Trakoscan castle and stop by Varazdin, Croatia's former capital, for dinner.
