Welcome to Vienna, the capital of Austria. Make yourself at home at your hotel and take time to rest from your journey. Enjoy dinner at either the Sound of Vienna or Vestibul, some of the most well-known restaurants in Vienna.
Day 2- Vienna
Take a tour of the Imperial city and get acquainted with the charm only Vienna has to offer before stopping for coffee and cake tasting at the Cafe Sazher, the quintessential Austrian cafe in the heart of the capital. In the evening relax with some cocktails in Sofitel with views of the entirety of Vienna below you.
Day 3- Melk Abbey
Leave Vienna behind for a day and hop over to Melk Abbey, the UNESCO-protected Benedictine monastery overlooking the town of Melk. Tour the biggest and most beautiful European Baroque ensemble and learn all about its history. In the evening, relax to a play at the opera.
Day 4 – Culture tour of Vienna
Today, you will make a stop at Vienna's most significant museums and landmarks counting the Schonbrunn Palace, the Belvedere Museum and Palace and the Kunsthistoriches Museum, the museum of the history of art. Afterward, visit a sommelier and learn all about the winemaking process, with tasting included. Later, enjoy a Mozart and Strauss concert in the Kursalon Vienna.
Day 5 – Graz and Baden
Head over to the spa town of Baden for a tour of the ancient city, called Aquae by the Romans. Throughout history, the sulfuric water springs attracted artists and famous people such as Schubert, Johann Strauss Vater and Raimund. After your tour of Baden take a short trip over to Graz for a traditional Austrian lunch and city tour.
Day 6- Travel to Salzburg
It is time to leave Vienna behind for the last time as you travel to the White City, Salzburg. Optionally, take the train for greater comfort and views of the Austrian countryside.
Day 7- Salzburg
Prepare for a day of exploration. Begin with a tour of Salzburg on which you will visit the Old Town and the Mirabell Gardens, the location of The Sound of Music. After lunch, travel to the Austrian Lakes for a boat tour of the scenic Mondsee, Fuchlsee, St. Wolfgang and St. Gilgen.
Day 8 – Hallstadt
For your final day, head to Hallstatt, the highlight of anyone's Austrian experience. Nestled between the foot of the mountain and the lake Hallstattersee, the picturesque ancient village is packed with sights to see, such as the Bone House, the Waldbachstrub waterfall and the world's oldest salt mine. Take a break from walking as you set out on a boat for a short trip on the Hallstatt lake. Later, stop by Bad Ischl, the summer resort of the former royal family and visit the nearby former home of Mozart's mother and sister.
